Advantageous Predictors of Acute Coronary Syndromes Evaluation (APACE) Study

Advantageous Predictors of Acute Coronary Syndromes Evaluation (APACE) Study:

Consecutive patients who presented to the emergency department with symptoms suggestive of AMI between April 2006 and June 2009 were enrolled in this prospective, international, multi-center study as described previously (32). Blood samples were collected in serum or EDTA plasma tubes at the time of presentation and additional samples were obtained 1, 2, 3, and 6 hours after presentation. Samples were centrifuged and aliquots were stored at -80°C. The study was approved by the local ethics committee and each patient gave written informed consent.
