HCHS

The Hamburg City Health Study (HCHS) is an epidemiological, prospective, cohort study of 45,000 citizens of the city of Hamburg, Germany. The primary aim of the study is to improve risk prediction for major chronic diseases taking into account classical, psycho-social, environmental and lifestyle factors as well as biomarkers and genetic factors combined with extensive early imaging examination. Within the frame of the HCHS, epidemiology meets modern imaging techniques, molecular biology, stem cell and health care research.
